This is the gold standard for dog toys. My daughter's dog has one and so I got one for my dog. He can entertain himself for an hour pushing this around trying to get the treats out. The hole is a perfect size as the treats come out (no frustration) but not too fast (it's not over in 10 minutes) and just the action of either pawing the ball or rolling it with his nose is fun. I fill it with milk bone crunchy original dog treats and they are just the right size and shape. I suppose you could fill it with whatever fits through the hole, the milk bone ones just seem to come out with ease. After I fill it, he is so excited and plays with it until it's just about empty. If its missing, he will look all over the house for it. This is a great toy for those dogs shut in a house all day while their owners work. Just fill it in the morning and it will keep them busy for a while. Love it.

My dog is a heavy chewer--i've had this toy a year and she uses it daily and has never attempted to chew it up yet. I fill it with her kibble and feed her a meal a day in the treat ball--she absolutely loves it, and it keeps her occupied for about 30 minutes, so i love it too! Great for smart dogs who need mental stimulation! Also, my dog didn't get it at first. It took a couple days of me pushing it around on the floor in her direction and showing her when the treats dispensed...after a few days she learned how to push it herself with both her nose and her paws.

It took my dog a few days to figure out how to move the ball around on his own, but now he's having a ball -- no pun intended -- pushing it around the house and checking for treats. In addition to the general enjoyment, I've found that my mutt (who is, I'm fairly certain, half bloodhound and half shepherd) LOVES this product as a tracking exercise. He doesn't just clean up the kibble, he traces and re-traces the ball's path with his nose, following the scent trail and looking for any missed treats. It seems to be a really stimulating form of play for him and really a happy side-effect of the ball.
Because of all of the reviews about dogs chewing through these toys, I expected it to be pretty thin and cheap, but it's actually a quite sturdy toy. It definitely won't stand up to heavy chewing, though dogs that are chewers would probably be able to enjoy it with supervision to make sure they don't eat it. My dog isn't much of a chewer, so this toy is perfect for him. I love that it's round and softer than alternatives like the Buster Cube; it's very easy and fun for the dog to roll around, and it doesn't make a lot of noise or cause damage to furniture and flooring like my old Buster Cube did. There is no manual control of how often it doles out treats, but you can control how often it "rewards" by how much you fill it; a very full ball will drop a lot of treats, but when there aren't many treats inside they're more difficult to get out.
It may not be the ideal choice for every dog, but for mine it's just the thing, and we're already getting a lot of use and enjoyment out of it. Very much recommended!

Lilly May is a big fan of this toy and so am I. She's had other treat toys before that ended up breaking, not keeping her interest, or had been to easy for her to manipulate. This one is great. It's all one piece so there's no chance of it breaking and since she's not a chewer I think it'll last indefinitely. She's a medium size husky/chow mix and can pick it up to run around with it even when it's not filled with treats. When treats are present she keeps busy nosing it around the house and picking up the edible trail left behind. I'd highly recommend this if your dog needs stimulating activity (so long as they aren't a big chewer).

I think this is a wonderful toy/treat dispenser, it isn't overly challenging but is enough to get my dog's brain working and keep him moving around without getting bored.
When I first opened it, I thought the hole for the treats/kibble was way too big, and that it would all just fall out right away. But the sides go up on the inside and create a sort of tunnel, so the treats don't just roll out. They have to sort of be shaken/jostled out. I used Evo small bites kibble in it, which are only about 1cm square in size, and it was still challenging for him to get them all! I like that it's big enough not to roll under furniture, but not too hard so it isn't denting stuff if he tosses it around. It might not be great for heavy chewers, but I couldn't say for sure as our dog isn't. The one thing to keep in mind would be that the dog has to kind of throw it around to get the treats out - if you live in an apartment and your floor carries noise to the person below you, your neighbors might not appreciate that!
I am very happy with this, and so is our dog.
