Angels' Eyes is the first product specifically developed for dogs to eliminate unsightly tearstains from the inside out! Angels' Eyes also helps to eliminate staining around the mouth and their coats due to licking. Other products are topical requiring high maintenance and yet will only remove the tear stains temporarily causing it to return worse than before. Angels' Eyes starts working before the tear stains begin and never adds food dyes or wheat which can have negative effects on your pet. Our bottles contain 30 gr net (1 oz) and 120 gr net for multiple dogs or cats' owners. Just sprinkle Angels' Eyes daily on regular food. After 3 months, reduce it to 4 times a week. After 6 months, reduce it further to twice a week. As you keep trimming the stained areas, the newly grown coat will be totally clear. The growth pattern of your pet's coat will determine if it will be completely tear stain free anywhere from 3 to 5 weeks.

I purchased this product but waited to ask the vet before opening it. He told me that this is an antibiotic and that is why is so effective, but he told me that there is no creature that can live with an antibiotic for ever... That the stains are not a health problem, is beauty stuff... so he accepts its use for show dogs (just a little while before each presentation) but not on a daily basis for a pet...
so, I returned it.
Please, check this with your own vet.

This product DOES work. My mother's white poodle/ Bichon Frise mix had the typical teary dark stains on her face that are so common on any white breed of dog, and some cats (fewer). We tried this (after trying everything else on the market) and it has definitely worked on the dog. She likes the taste, in fact, prefers to just lick the dose up from a bowl, rather than mixing it in the food as recommended.
However, if you read the instructions you see you are supposed to taper it down, and NOT stay at the same starting dose. This works so well because it contains, in part, an ANTIBIOTIC. The antibiotic is Tylosin, a form of Erythromycin. In the past, I've been told, some veterenarians would give low dose tetracycline or other antibiotics to dogs whose owners could not stand the tear stains....this is the same concept only touted up with other ingredients and a nice sounding name. (And a much larger cost!)
To read more in depth about this antibiotic specifically as used in Angel Eyes, see: [...]
The article makes the point that while the manufacturer puts Tylosin on the label as an ingredient, they do not put the amount. That is a MAJOR problem, which of course makes it impossible for anyone, including your vet, to judge the safety.
As for cats---I'm a life long cat and dog person/owner....I would hesitate to give this product or any product primarily aimed at dogs to cats without checking FIRST with my cat-only veterenarian....cats are SO different than dogs, or people, in how they tolerate certain medications. What a dog (or person) can tolerate well, can cause severe illness or death to a cat, in many cases. Dogs are more like people in terms of use of medications, whereas cats are just totally from another planet! :--)
No one, human or animal, should remain forever on an antibiotic. The germs in the body become resistant to the antibiotic and if the pet (or person) needed a similar antibiotic for an illness, it might not work, or work as well. Also, there are negative effects to the liver for long term use of drugs that are not for necessary life-saving reasons (people, or animals, on meds after transplant surgery, or with severe chronic respiratory conditions for example). So, is it worth it to keep a dog on any medicine containing an antibiotic just to make him/her look "prettier"? Each pet owner has to decide that on their own....but I'd consult my veterenarian, bring in the bottle so they can read the ingredients, and get their feedback.
If you google "Angel Eyes + safe" or some other variation of those words, you'll get almost entirely a list of ads from people or companies that SELL Angel Eyes, and merely quote the manufacturers' statement that it is safe, harmless, etc.
My concern is in part from reading the reviews here on Amazon where for example, several people state how great this works, and the dog only requires a small amount "every morning"....clearly they HAVE NOT read or followed the directions on the bottle.
Having said all that, we'd tried the various brands of eye wipes, we'd tried switching to filtered or "pure" water (probably an urban legend: we saw no change), and anything else we could safely try. ONLY the Angel Eyes really worked to clear up the dripping and the stains on the hair. So...for doing what it claims I'd give it 5 stars, but have to take at least one star off for the possible long term side effects, especially if the directions on the bottle are not followed.

I have used Angels' Eyes since getting my Maltese last April. I experimented with the chicken flavor and the sweet potato flavor. The chicken worked but not as well as the beef. The sweet potato did not work at all and now I am back to the beginning with her eye stains. I was very unhappy about this and wrote to the company twice and received absolutely no response. So, even though they make a good product in the beef flavor of Angels' Eyes, their customer service is pretty much nonexistent. Thank goodness for the customer service of Amazon. They always come through - others could learn from them!

We live with a 7 year old Maltese that has a genetic deficency of "crummy eyes" .
They get crusty and dirty looking and Angels' Eyes (make sure you spell correctly or you get to some porn site) seem to help ease up on the crusty dirty looking problem. "Try it you'll like it!"

I have been using Angel Eyes now for 2 - 3 months and have enjoyed a significant improvement in my puppies' appearance around the eye area. I mix it with peanut butter and she takes it without any difficulty.
