The PetSafe Wireless Fence pet containment system is a revolutionary concept that provides the safest, simplest form of pet containment ever. Plug in the transmitter somewhere inconspicuous in your home. The transmitter emits a 17.5 kHz radio signal around your home. Your pet wears a lightweight receiver collar that "listens" for the signal. While the collar is receiving the signal, your dog is free to run and play in your yard. When he approaches the boundary of the signal area, he receives a warning beep. If your dog does not return, he receives a static correction which is startling but not harmful. With a little simple training, your dog will quickly learn his boundaries. The training of your pet is a key element with the PetSafe Wireless Fence. Follow the easy instruction and training manual that is included.

 "Saved a stray's life!" 2010-01-24
By Bird (Northport, AL USA)
We have a leash law in our neighborhood. A boxer stray took up as the "neighborhood" dog and hung out wherever there were people, especially children. However, some didn't care for his ability to run freely. We bought PetSafe Wireless Containment System in the hopes that we could keep him on our property and safe. His only other option was to go to the Humane Society, as we were unable to find a suitable owner for him. It has worked beautifully! He learned within a couple of days and now has free run of our property! This product truly saved his life! We are now considering another transmitter to extend his run space and my family and friends are so impressed, they are set to buy a system as well. Thanks for a great product that is easy to use, humane to the animal and successful in containment!

"not a sturdy product, poor customer support." 2010-01-13
By Melissa S. (East Freedom, PA)
I ordered the containment fence and an extra collar for our 2 dogs. Within less than a week one of the prongs had fallen off of one of the collars, and then the whole censor box fell off the collar completely and is lost. I called the 1-800 number for customer support because the system is supposed to have a full warranty. I was told that despite the fact that the collar fell apart after a week, replacement was not covered under the warranty. If I wanted another collar, I would have to purchase one. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was told they were all in a meeting, but someone would call me back in a few hours. That has been several weeks ago and no one has called yet. In my opinion, while the system itself does work, the workmanship of it is poor. I feel if you pay several hundred dollars for something, it should last more than a few weeks. Don't waste your money on this system. My puppy was only 7 months old at the time and weighed less than 50 pounds. NOT A STRONG PRODUCT.

"Best purchase of the year!!!" 2010-01-07
By Daisy Picker (Tulsa, OK)
Our dogs were in such a habit of digging under our fence and roaming for hours. It was frustrating. We hesitated to purchase due to the cost, and just not sure how effective it would be. I finally broke down and ordered. It was the VERY best thing I've ordered in quite a while. We use the maximum range, and only a moderate correction level. We set the collars, plugged it in, turned it on...dogs broke the barrier ONCE!! Got them back in the yard right away (they were quite startled), and haven't had a problem since. Worth EVERY penny!!!

"Should have bought one sooner!" 2010-01-06
By Steven Brown (Texas)
We had ours setup in less than an hour. We found that the easiest way to ease the dog into it was to put it on the lowest setting that worked, and let him figure out the boundaries. Once he is zapped a couple times the warning beep makes him stop in his tracks and turn around before he his zapped again! We purchased this unit to keep our dog out of the road in front of the house. With the proper placement of the base the boundary is now about 4 feet before the road. Now the dog doesn't go close to the road, and we don't have to worry about him getting hit by a car. VERY pleased with this product!

My only beef about this product is the price. It should not cost near as much as it does for such a simple design. Given the result I do not regret the purchase, but hope to see the price come down in the future and maybe a little competition in the wireless dog fence market.

"PetSafe wirless Pet Containment System" 2010-01-02
By Vickie Garrett (MOORESVILLE, INDIANA, US)
After many tries and trial of trying to keep our dog contained in our yard, the PetSafe PIF-300-11 Wireless Pet Containment System was the thing that finally worked. Our dog is very stubborn was not even containable with the type of system that has the wire buried underground. He is a Shar-pei and has very thick skin on his neck. He would just bolt through it, yelp, and keep on going. He did try to go through this one, but was in for a 30 second shock. He did that about three times before he decided to come back in to the yard instead of going all the way through it. He has not gone through the barrier now for several weeks. He is, however, afraid of every little beep and buzzer he hears. Over all we are completely satisfied. We had just about given up on trying to contain him without a tie-out. Our neighborhood does not allow fencing, so this was the answer for us.
