This is the new soft design Lectro-Kennel that you have heard about. It has all of the great features of the original Lectro-Kennel, but it is made of softer material giving owners much more flexibility in placement and transportation, and giving your pets extra comfort. Lectro-Kennel has been warming pets for over 30 years. Designed for doghouses, basements, garages, barns, sheds, porches or any other outdoor shelter. This bed is perfect for the daytime outdoor dog. It uses an internal thermostat to keep the temperature at a desirable 102 when the pet lies upon the pad. The unit is constructed of a soft but durable material and has a steel wrapped cord to ensure your pet's safety. The Lectro-Soft comes in 3 sizes (S, M, L) and is extremely low wattage. Note: This is a soft bed that is NOT recommended for destructive dogs. If you have a pet that chews or is destructive in any way we suggest the Original K&H Lectro-Kennel.

This saved the lives of my feral cat colony I am sure - we are having the worst winter in Maryland on record. Got this just in time for the blizzard!

Our pet loves this thermal blanket, and he will be cold no more. Great product, and reasonably priced. Thanks Fred

"Does exactly what it says it does...keeps your pet warm" 2010-02-11
By Ginwich (Eastern WI, US)
We bought this as a gift for a neighbor who doesn't keep their cat indoors at night (we live in WI and it can get extremely cold at night). They do put it in the garage which is where they put the pet warmer...it is in a large box with a blanket over it (the cat likes the coziness of the box/blanket). Before using it, the cat was at the door in the morning waiting to get out and into the house to warm up...now, the cat is still in bed until the door is totally opened. The cat LOVES it! And we're so pleased to know that the cat is not freezing at night.

"This is just what I've been looking for" 2010-02-07
By Babs Rizzo (Bay Area, CA)
I am very pleased with this warming pad. It is very similar in design to the camping pad Thermarest with a pull out valve for self inflation. Except of course there is a heating element sandwiched between the medium density foam sheets. Just like the Thermarest pads, this pad can be deflated and rolled up for transport or storage. True to description, when my canine pal is not curled up on it, the temperature hovers just above ambient. But once she is settled in, her weight sets it off and it gets very toasty warm.

Be advised that the overall dimensions given for the pad includes a 3/4 inch laminated seam all around. The actual dimensions of the padded/heated area is therefore 1 1/2 inches shy. I.e. the medium reports 19" X 24". And the dimensions of the pad or actual heating area is 17 1/2' X 22 1/2".

Overall, this is a far better product than a couple others I have tried and returned because it was too hard (stiff plastic that manufacturer specified couldn't be covered-learned after receipt of item), or inadequate (tiny heating pad sandwiched in medium size pad, that barely warmed up!)

 "great for beagle" 2010-02-01
By Samara Sauls
Our 1 year old beagle puppy is in a doghouse in the garage all winter (with access to the backyard). We bought him this heating pad to keep him warm. He loves it. It seems to be holding up great without being too hot. It appears that he loves it SO much he's not getting out of his bed all day long! ha!
