 "Outstanding Outdoor Water Bowl" 2010-02-18
By Sendai Georgia (Atlanta, GA)
I bought this to keep a bowl of water warm during freezing temperatures for a feral cat, birds, and wild animals. This bowl has been connected for two months with no problems. The water hasn't frozen with temperatures down to 10 degrees. The instructions advise against adding an extension cord. However, I attached a 100' extension cord to the bowl's electrical cord and waterproofed the connection. So far, I've had no problems.

 "All love it." 2010-02-07

This is our second bowl. The first was for out 'breezeway' cat. The regular water bowl would freeze - but not this one. We bought a second bowl for the birds and the squirrels on the deck - and they love it. I use the bowls with the 'thermal cube plugs' so they are automatically turned on and off depending on the temperature.

 "Feral Cats" 2010-01-30

I got this item to feed Feral Cats in - It's great - I put a little water in it and set the other bowl inside and the food stays warm and does not freeze. I live in Michigan and it gets really cold here!

"excellent quality heated bowl, great price." 2010-01-19
By K. Noble (SW PA)
I bought this bowl for my outdoor cat and placed it in the (mostly unheated) outdoor shed where her bed is, and so far have been very happy with its performance. It's winter in SW PA, so temperatures vary from below 20F to mid-40s. It's such a relief to know that she has water available to her 24/7 - before, I was having to change it out at least twice a day, and it was frozen solid every time. I chose this larger size to account for evaporation in case we have to leave for a few days. The cord cover is a very nice feature, and the cord is fairly long as well. I do have it on an extension cord (despite the directions) out of necessity as our shed is not wired, and have had no problems so far.
